South Korean authorities are reported to have raided Bithumb, one of the biggest crypto currency exchanges in the country based on the trade volume.
Seoul newspaper on Wednesday reported that officers of Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Intelligence raided Bithumb headquarters, located in the center of the Gangnam district of the capital.
The police action seems to be related to the sale of tokens worth $ 25 million held in Bithumb and the proposed acquisition by the Singapore platform, BTHMB, which never materialized.
Based TheNews report, some investors said they had lost millions of dollars, people who participated in the sale.
The chairman of Bithumb, Lee Jung-hoon has been accused of fraud and illegally sending funds overseas. It was the second attack on the stock cryptocurrency Korea in a week.
