TZ APAC, an Asia-based public blockchain consultancy that supports the Tezos ecosystem, is known to have supported the sale of the NFT “53 Never Forgotten” in honor of the crew of the KRI Nanggala ship that sank in the Bali Strait.
All proceeds raised from the sale will be donated to the families of the fallen naval officers, as a way to ease their financial burden after their loss. The NFT was printed on the Tezos NFT platform, hic et nunc.
NFT is available for purchase from 20 May 2022 through the Art Moments Jakarta Online website or through 53families.xyz until 30 June.
This artwork, created by Ruanth Chrisley Thyssen and Cindy Thyssen, features a 53-second loop animation of a submarine floating among animated waves, accompanied by the sound of water. Ruanth Chrisley Thyssen is an Oscar and BAFTA-nominated sound designer and Cindy Thyssen is a digital artist based in Indonesia.
“Losing a loved one is arguably the hardest thing that most people will ever experience. Losing someone special and close to you, a friend, spouse or especially a family member, is devastating. ’53’ is a tribute to the 53 crew members who died, and the 53 families whose lives will continue. 53 will never be forgotten,” said Ruanth,
An additional 500 NFT “53 Never Forgotten” will be given to participants as part of the online Tezos NFT printing workshop organized by Art Moments Jakarta Online 2022 (AMJO 2022) on June 7 at 20.00 WIB.
This workshop will invite participants to learn about NFT artwork and how to print NFT in Tezos – Temple and Kukai based wallets. Through this workshop, TZ APAC hopes to raise awareness of how artists and collectors can leverage blockchain technology for their work and create their own NFTs on the Tezos blockchain.
NFT itself is a non-exchangeable token and that makes it special. NFT is commonly used to represent ownership of digitized assets and is commonly used for ownership of artwork, photos, video and audio. Tezos as the first proof of stake blockchain is a place that can be used to print, host and trade energy-efficient NFTs.
“Indonesian artists are starting to embrace NFT, enabling them to monetize their art, become positive change makers for their communities, and help grow Indonesia’s creative economy. TZ APAC is proud to support NFT creation workshops as part of Art Moments Jakarta, where other artists and art enthusiasts can come together to learn how to create their own NFT on the Tezos blockchain,” said TZ APAC Head of Marketing, Katherine Ng.
TZ APAC’s involvement in the hybrid art fair was followed by the incessant introduction of Indonesian artists to recognize NFT as a tool that can help them generate real and sustainable value from their art.
NFT’s sales, auctions and workshops act as part of TZ APAC’s wider sponsorship of the hybrid art exhibition AMJO 2022 (1-30 June), which will bring together Indonesian and international communities of artists, collectors, curators and galleries in one series. offline exhibitions, and online workshops and panel conversations.
